Student Highlight: Rebecca Robertson

Congratulations to BDS student Rebecca Robertson who recently moved to Los Angeles and is now settling in and getting ready to attack her dreams!
We’re not only going to miss Rebeccas’s charming and witty personality but her acting talents as well. Rebecca is an outstanding actress and the evident growth she experienced while studying at BDS is a tell-tale sign that she is destined for great things!
In her own words, Rebecca has highlighted what contributed to her tremendous growth in such a short period of time.
"I knew immediately after auditing class at BDS that I had found the perfect studio to grow as an actor. What I didn’t realize at that moment, was that BDS wouldn’t just be a place to develop my art, but also my home away from home – complete with supportive peers, so talented that their skill level pushed me to work even harder, a safe environment to try new things, and an encouraging, super knowledgeable instructor who I am forever indebted for the lessons he has taught me."
Before enrolling at BDS, I had taken classes at various studios and schools, all of which helped me in their own way, but I still felt I was missing something. A connection both to my own character and to the other characters in the scene. I knew how to analyze a script, but I was still lacking the authentic experience that every actor craves to have in the classroom, on the stage, and on set. Walking into Benjy Dobrin Studios was the best thing that has happened to me as an actor because it not only taught me a tangible approach to the craft, one that can be utilized in everything from cold readings, to monologues, to scene study, but it also helped me find that connection to the scene that causes an authentic moment-to-moment experience, which brings a scene to life."
