Student Highlight: Alberto Ocampo

Alberto Ocampo is a BDS superstar! He’s recently been cast as the host for 11 Walmart commercials in Colorado Springs! What an amazing win! He was also cast as Uday Hussein in “Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo” written by Rajiv Joseph, a 2010 Pulitzer Prize finalist for Drama. The play ran through September at the Edge Theater in Lakewood, Colorado.

As usual, creativity isn’t limited to one area. Alberto has also been learning to play the guitar and is looking forward to using his new found skills in the future to further express his creativity.

Some of his favorite projects he’s worked on have been the short film, “Men. Do Not Enter” and the play he recently completed at The Edge Theater, “Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo”

“I’m so grateful I found Benjy Dobrin Studios, his classes have made all the difference for me. Before coming to Benjy Dobrin Studios, I knew I wanted to get back into acting after a 20 year hiatus but I didn’t really know where to begin as it had been so long. Originally, I intended on going to his classes as a way to express myself creatively but after seeing the success people were having, I decided to start auditioning. Since then, I’ve booked a commercial, a film and I was just in a theater production! His classes have helped me sharpen my audition skills through his warm read process and I’m so grateful I am a part of this community.”

Alberto’s hard work and dedication to his craft has been paying off. Keep up the good work Alberto.
